After enjoying the DAOU Pessimist Red Blend, we grabbed this bottle as soon as we saw it at our local Costco. Let's check it out.
The 2019 DAOU Sauvignon Blanc begins with a pleasing aroma full of peach notes along with some tropical fruit, lemon and touches of floral and herbal notes.
The medium-bodied wine tastes smooth and soft and features plenty of tart, tangy fruit that tends more towards the tropical fruit spectrum in the mouth.
Just a touch of a chalky minerality leads into the dry, long finish. It didn't blow our socks off as we were expecting it might given it has a number of 90+ scores, but nevertheless this is a solid Sauvignon Blanc for the price.
